Advert Evaluation

Brainstorming ideas for our advert was really productive as we discussed ideas and settled on a synopsis as a group and started to think about the pre production process and who would take on what roles within the group.Nobody was very enthusiastic about stepping forward to be the face of our re branding so to make it fair we chose names at random and Erin was the chosen actress, leaving me and Natalie to take control of the technical side of production.Personally i felt the most confident in control of the camera therefore shot all the footage for our advert, whilst Natalie referred to the shot lists and plans we had made prier to the filming schedule. Only one talent release had to be completed for Erin and the location recce was simple as we only filmed in her bedroom and bathroom. Pre production and shooting ran smoothly and came together nicely, along with a voiceover by Natalie featuring our re branding slogan and brand. The majority of issues we faced were mainly in post productio...

Documentary pre production paperwork

Pre production essay

The process of pre-production plays an important The internet or through film festivals. If they are successful through this then it may well part in the making of a moving image text. If it is skipped or not carried out in detail, the final outcome would have little organisation in terms of personnel, equipment and could easily lack creative direction also. The process should begin with various creative processes, these include script writing, storyboarding and writing up shot lists. Once this has been completed there are a number of legal and logistical issues that would need to be dealt with. These include hiring equipment, props, costumes and also sorting locations. In terms of paperwork there is talent releases, location recces and various risk assessments. It is only now that the rest of production can be carried out. Types of moving image productions Different types of moving image production require different methods of distribution. Mainstream movies are commonly made ...

Documentary proposal

Documentary proposal: Within my documentary, I will include information on the popular high-end brands within the fashion industry today. I’ll do this by exploring the brands histories and the styles they have created over the years and the outcome it has had on our adolescent generation today. It will also feature interviews with the both teens wearing these brands regularly today as part of their image and personal style and those who had similar influences in the past. I will research trends which have sparked inspiration for the young people of our generation. who are their influences?, what brands do they follow? And how do models have an impact on body image? Do they compare themselves to the people they see on social media and in magazines. The style of documentary I will be using to influence my filming is the mixed technique, including interviews, narrations and observational footage throughout. My documentary will be targeted mainly at teenagers who are finding thems...

Introduction to the News:part 3 (continued) and 4

What is meant by the term slow news day? When the term “slow news day” is used, it means that on that day there was little to no news to report and putting together a whole broadcast can be difficult and can often end up clutching at straws. What is the final story often called and what is its function? The final item is called a “kicker “and its purpose is to round off the broadcast on a light and happy note, normally a story to lift the heavier breaking stories in at the beginning or middle of the show. What is meant by the term news values and what did G and R have to do with it? News values, sometimes called news criteria, determine how much prominence a news story is given by a media outlet, and the attention it is given by the audience. In 1965 media researchers Galtung and Ruge analysed international news stories to find out what factors placed them at the top of the news agenda worldwide. They came up with a list of values which acted as a scoring system. Part fou...

Introduction to the News: parts 1 to 3

An Introduction to the news: Part one: The clip I watched was ITV’s evening news broadcast on Sunday 27th of May 2018 at 18:30. The stories covered during the broadcast (in order) were: Passengers get left stranded at Stansted Airport, an eighteen-year-old girl is one of two that had been killed at a festival in Portsmouth this weekend because of drug miss use, British man is the first to win the Giro D’Italia in its hundred and one-year history. During the starting sequence itv use audios and visuals to add effect to the headlines being introduced. For example, as the broadcaster introduces each item a related image or video plays in the background during the voiceover as well as dramatic opening music quietly underneath ready to increase in volume for the opening theme, this makes the whole thing flow a lot better and the visuals add information, drawing the audience to the stories and keeping them watching to see them all in full later in the programme. Part two:   The pr...
